My father, Henry W. Harris, was a radio gunner on B-25s in the 489th Bomb Squadron, 340th Bomb Group. He was the only survivor when his plane was shot down over Northern Italy on 7 Aug 1944. He helped the Partisans fight the Nazis until being captured, held as a POW, and escaping to fight alongside the Partisans again.
