My father served in WWII in the 8th Army Air Corp eventually serving in the 801st (Prov) Bomb Squadron/492 Bombardment Group in Harrington, Northampton, UK. He was a Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner on the B-24 'Baby Bug' under the command of Capt. Runyon P Coleman serving at Harrington Airfield. They carried out 35 OSS night missions from 3 June until 11 September 1944.
