He entered the communications field in 1948 when he attended the Communications Officer's General Course at Scott Field, followed by the Airborne Radar Officer's Course at Keesler Field in 1951. After graduating from Keesler Field he was assigned to the Japan Air Defense Force when his life was ended at the early age of thirty.
