Felix William Kolasinski

Felix Kolasinski was Left Waist Gunner on board of B-24 42-51506 on the 27 February 1945 mission to the Halle Marshalling Yards, Germany. He baled out in the vicinity of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. According to US trial Review and Recommendations paper 12-1885 Kolasinski was shot to death shortly after being taken prisoner of war by a Master Sergeant of the German Army. The perpetrator was sentenced to death, reprieved, and paroled in February 1954. Initially buried near the place of his death, his remains were brought back to the United States after the war.
