Delivered Denver 17 June 1943; Kearney 20 July 1943; Assigned 407BS/92BG [PY- ] Alconbury 14 August 1943. Shot down by enemy aircraft on the 6 September 1943 mission to Stuttgart with Pilot Robert W. Carlson; Co-pilot: Dave T. Kindt; Navigator: James R. Blackburn; Bombardier: Frank A. Price; Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Bobby L. Boutwell; Radio Operator: Hubert E. Sprague; Ball turret gunner: Clifford J. Pruitt; Left Waist gunner: John M. Trainer; Right Waist gunner: Frank J. Holczman; Tail gunner: Roy P. Ladd. The ship ditched into the Channel near Penhurst and the crew was saved by the Air Rescue Service. All returned to base, six of them slightly injured (scratches). No Missing Air Crew Report.
