Killed in action (KIA) on 19 March 1945. After returning from a bombing raid over industrial oil sites in Germany, poor weather over England encouraged the pilot to drop from formation, losing contact with the other aircraft of the group.

The aircraft was spotted flying low by residents of Reigate before it crashed at Coley Hill, after colliding with some trees. The entire crew were killed in the accident.
