BTG, Evans R crew. 381st BG, 535th BS, 8th AF. Crashed landed on 4 January 1944 in B-17F #42-29923 'Lucky Strike' near Nolfolk due to low fuel, iced windshield. Attempted to land in a field and hit a ditch, 2 crewmembers KIA. Mission #56 to Kiel, Germany. Killed in Action (KIA). Sgt Rivera suffered a skull fracture in the crash.
