John Secleter was Co-Pilot of B-17 "Liberty Queen" #43-37624, shot down by fighters and crashed near Glauchau, Germany on 20 July 1944. Seriously wounded in the head, left leg and with a fracture of his left ankle, he was captured and hospitalized in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, 15km SE of Glauchau, Germany. Interned at Stalag Luft 3 Sagan/Zagan, Poland. Force-marched from there, liberated 29 April 1945 Stalag 7A Moosburg, Germany, by US troops. NARA WWII POW records : “Returned to Military Control 29 June 1945.”
