Crew of B-17 42-97854, which was being ferried by Air Transport Command, North Atlantic Wing, from Goose Bay, Labrador for Meeks Field Iceland. The aircraft ran out of fuel and sank in the ice. The aircraft was destined for the 390th Bomb Group and this crew were eventually assigned to the 351st Bomb Group.
