Peter Hlynsky
Military ROLL OF HONOURRWG, Steele crew. Original member of the Garrett crew. 381st BG, 533rd BS, 8th AF. Shot down by FW 190s on return from mission #62 to Brunswick, Germany on 30 Jan 1944 in B-17F 42-29761 'Martha II'. MACR 2244. Killed in Action (KIA). As Sgt Hlynsky was landing in his parachute, he drifted backwards, struck a fence with his legs and fell backward. The Dutch underground found him with a broken neck. He asked for a priest and was given last rites before he died.
