Leonard John Loscalzo
MilitaryStaff Sergeant Albert Alvin Spacil's personal belongings sent home after his death
Crew Number 93
I recognize my uncle, Leonard Loscalzo, in the front row of crew photo. I believe he went by Lee, which was what my mother, his kid sister, called him. (He was always Uncle Lenny to me.) Lee was a waist gunner. Although he didn't recognize it as fortuitous when it happened but he was shot on the mission before September 11, 1944 when the aircraft was lost. Recovering from severe leg injuries he did not fly the last mission.
He survived the war and married in 1951. He and his wife Theresa raised three daughters. His war injury had given him two more decades but died young at 54 of a heart attack in 1975.
