Delivered Long Beach 24/4/43; Salinas 30/4/43; Tinker 13/5/43; Dow Fd 23/5/43; Assigned Freeman Goodman Prov Grp Gander, Nfd 9/6/43, but crashed into Stranavan Bay, Rothesay, Scotland on ferry flight from USA having run out of gas; with Jim Rivers, Co-pilot: W.D. Boelter, Navigator: E.W.Gould, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: C.D. McLaughlin, Radio Operator: E.W. Maslowski, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: N. Maxa, Radio Operator: P.Tomasko, Waist gunner: F.Norman, Waist gunner: D.C.Jensen (9 Returned to Duty); Bombardier: Jim Stroebel (KIS-body washed up a month later). Salvaged NBD 16/6/45.
