Delivered Tulsa 28/3/44; Kearney 4/5/44; Grenier 21/5/44; Assigned 544th Bomb Squadron, 384th Bomb Group [SU-Q] Grafton Underwood on 6 June 1944; on a training flight, 3 August 1944 with Howard A. Jung, Navigator: Thomas C. Bates, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Harold L. Perry, Radio Operator: William Isaac Sellars; crash landed at home base, station 106, when new pilot clipped trees when banking to line up runway on return to base. (four Killed in Service), Co-pilot: James Allan Vranna, survived. Aircraft was salvaged.
