Failed to Return (FTR)

Meppel, The Netherlands 29 April 1944 After being damaged by flak over the target (Berlin) the Cotner Crew (Crew #408) struggled to keep up with the group, eventually falling behind and being set upon by German fighters. The crew were forced to bail out over Meppel, The Netherlands. Falk (WG) was KIA by flak prior to the shootdown. Play Boy, set on autopilot, continued down making 360 degree turns, eventually landing in a field in fairly good shape with no one at the controls.
