Bio

I'm Daryl Plunk. My dad, Henry Porter Plunk (1922-2006) flew as an Army Air Force Captain, and fighter pilot of P38s and P51, stationed at Wattisham Air Base, UK, May 1944 - Jan. 1945. He flew 60 combat missions, was credited with one-half of a German Bf 109 kill, and received a number of commendations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He spent a full career as a pilot and retired from the US Air Force in 1962. He then completed a second career in the private and civilian government sectors before retiring from employment. Originally from Bethel Springs, TN, he passed away in Vancleave, MS, as did our mom, Peggy Plunk, five years later.
