Bio

Bruce Bockstanz (1922-2008) is my father. He was a Navigator on the Silver Slipper - the first unpainted B-17G in the ETO. Shot down after bombing Schweinfurt 19 July 1944, he spent the rest of the war in Stalag Luft I. When Dad arrived at Stalag Luft I he found his cousin Ernie Bockstanz assigned to the same room as him!!  Dad's flight records and other wartime artifacts are at the 96thBG museum, Snetterton.
