My father, siblings and parents lived in Dunmow Essex during WWII. Crusaders gave a Xmas party Dec 25th 1943, for village children. He never forgot the taste of his first orange, given to him by those American Army Air Corp. He told us that Prisoners of War played football with him and other kids.
