Bio

My uncle, Gerald Koty, was a radio operator on a B17-G. He was with the 772nd Bomb Squadron, 463rd Bomb Group, 15th Air Force, based in Foggia, Italy. His plane was shot down on his 21st mission on March 15, 1945. The entire crew bailed out and was taken prisoner. To the best of my knowledge, the all survived the war -- heroes one and all.
