These pictures, taken at the ATC at Valley, Wales, portray the intense activity at the base. Final instructions for last mission from UK: First Lieut Richard Steck of San Diego, Calif (centre in leather jacket) gives his crew and 10 passengers of "Monotonous Maggie" final instructions before their last flight from a United Kingdom base. Each of the bombers on its way to the US carries its crew of 10, plus 10 soldier passengers. In addition soldier’s mail also is being flown to the US in some of the bombers.'
