Detailed History

The entrance to the park used to be the entrance to the fuel dump of Leiston Airfield, and is home to the Leiston Airfield Heritage Centre. It is jointly owned by The Friends of Leiston Airfield and the Cakes and Ale Holiday Park. The centre is full of memorabilia and archives relating to the 357th Fighter Group: "The Yoxford Boys."
