4920 Aywaille, Belgium 24 December 1944 He was a pilot in the 836th Bomb Squadron, 487th Bomb Group. He was killed in action on 24 Dec 1944 when B-17G 43-37569 was shot down by German fighters near Liege, Belgium. Most of the wreckage of the aircraft fell in the Ambleve river at 'le Gouffre' near Aywaille, Belgium. The tail section fell near the hamlet of Septroux, near Aywaille (MACR 11559).
