Harold V Keahey
MilitaryRobert H. Keahey
Master Sergeant Harold V. Keahey was born in 1915 and raised in rural south Arkansas. He had a natural inclination for anything mechanical, and in 1934 attended the Dallas Aviation School where he learned advanced aircraft maintenance techniques. In 1939 he bought and flew a Corben Super Ace monoplane, without any flying lessons. He enlisted in January 1941 and became a Line Chief in the 303rd Bombardment Group (H), 358th Bomb Squadron. He had a passion for airplanes and was always driven by an obsession for perfection in anything he did. After the War he ran a successful pulpwood and logging operation until he retired in 1970. Mr. Keahey passed away in 2005.
