Shot down in B-17G #42-102448 on 26 April 1944. After bombs away, the ship was attacked by an Me-109, which made one pass from the tail; the left wing caught fire and the pilot dived into the clouds; more fighters attacked; aircraft crashed near Brandenburg, Germany. MACR 4242.
