Lt. Frank A Forsyth. 359th Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-8588 OC-K "4-F" The cowl with the 4-F marking was removed from Lt Forsyth's earlier P-47 and does not mean the usual "unfit for military service". It was the way that Lt. Forsyth's crew refered to him - meaning "Fearless Fosdick Frank Forsyth. This a/c was reassigned to Lt. Rolfe Chickering who renamed it "Gracie" in honour of his wife.
Crashed 1 September 1944. Evaded (EVD). in P-47 'Fearless Fosdick' 42-26141.
