Shot down 29 April 1944 in B-24 41-29513. Returned to base.

Boyd was the twin of Lloyd both gunners with 506th Sqdn 44th BG. and unusually by their own request - both serving on Lt. Hruby's crew. When the plane was downed in the North Sea and they were rescued by the Royal Navy one British seaman administering the 'rubdowns' couldn't believe his eyes thinking he'd attended the same man twice over.
