MACR 4938
Shot down 20 May 1944 in B-17 #42-37864. Evaded (EVD). After landing near Rekem, just inside Belgium, West of Maastricht (The Netherlands), he was hidden there then guided to the Liège, Belgium area and liberated there by US troops in the first half of September 1944. His Escape & Evasion Report E&E 2246 erroneously mentions his birth date as 27 May 1921... MACR 4938 mentions he was married to Helen T. Szulczewski (before leaving for England). Helen Teresa predeceased him in March 2007 and rests in the same cemetery.
