Ernest Aita
MilitaryErnest flew on 30 missions with the Group. He recalled that on many they came home alone through the clouds with Thorpe Abbotts 'socked in'. 'I was very lucky on those missions to come in right over the runway. No magic, no navigational expertise, just the Gee Box. Read the blips right and you could hit the center of the runway every time.'
