Charles W Getz III


On 6 May 1995 Lt. Col. Getz was awarded the DFC for a special mission he had flown some 50 years earlier. He was at that time flying a P-51 with the 2nd Air Division, having previously flown a 31 mission tour with the 491st BG. He had retired from the Air Force in 1962 after twenty years' service and had later held senior positions in industry and civil government.
