Harold Walker joined the Air Force as a cadet and graduated in November 1943. He completed two tours - a total of 58 missions -with the 401st sqdn 91st Bomber group at Bassingbourn, being shot down three times.



In 1948 he was posted to SAC and flew the B-36 for ten years before going on to the B-52, being Wing Deputy Commander for Maintenance at Altus OK. He was afterwards Chief Maintenance Systems Division at Kelly AFB and retired with the rank of Colonel after 32 years' service. During that time he had been awarded the DFC, Bronze Star, Air Medal and Legion of Merit.

He died on 16th January 1999 and was buried with full military honours at the National Cemetery, Fort Sam, Houston.
