Stanley J Abromski
MilitaryCorporal Stanley J Abromski was on route to Italy aboard the SS Paul Hamilton as part of convoy UGS38.
The SS Paul Hamilton was carrying personnel, supplies and munitions when on the 20th April 1944, 30 miles out from Cape Bengut in the Mediterranean, the convoy was attacked by a force of 23 JU88's. The SS Paul Hamilton was struck by an aerial torpedo which detonated the munitions and destroyed the ship. There were no survivors and only one body was reported recovered.
