Toth was an engineer and ball turret gunner crew member on the B-24D Liberator, 42-40749, named SACK-TIME SALLY and flew on the mission to destroy the oil refineries at Ploesti, Romania. SSgt. Toth and SACK-TIME SALLY accomplished their mission and returned safely to Benghazi, Libya. SSgt Toth was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his skill and valour on the mission. 1-Aug-43.
