As more than 100 German fighters attacked the formation of flying fortresses, Sgt LaBruno crouched in the radio room of the Boeing B-17 'Lady Godiva' and caught a dramatic action shot of a Nazi Messerschmidt 410 less than 25 feet of the wing of the big bomber just as the fighter pulled away to start into a dive."
