"On the return leg from Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich the B-17 piloted by American Richard P. Anthony was attacked by pilots from German 2./JG 1 and hit. Anthony managed to make a perfect emergency landing on Buberg Hill near Bubach. Three of his men had bailed out, the other six were still in the ship. All survived the crash and were taken captive (for example near Bubach, Herchweiler and Krottelbach)."
