Phillip Goldfarb was Killed in Action (KIA) along with the rest of his crew when the aircraft they were flying, 42-97985, was involved in a mid air collision with another 94th BG aircraft, 44-8177. The tail broke away from 42-97985 and the aircraft crashed in a field close to Rougham air base. All were lost
