Assigned to 63FS, 56FG, 8AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) in P-47 42-7946 on fighter sweep in Dunkirk area. His aircraft was seen to make a half roll at 30,000ft and enter a steep dive. Repeated calls from other pilots received no response and it is possible oxygen failure was the reason for his loss. Crashed at Moorsele, Belgium. Killed in Action (KIA)
