Oliver Andres served as a bombardier with the 334th Bomb Squadron of the 95th Bomb Group, out of Horham, England.
On 11 April 1944, his 21st birthday, Andres was flying in B-17 42-31835 on a mission to Rostock when the aircraft was hit by enemy fighters. Andres managed to bale out but his parachute failed him and he was killed.
