Object Number - UPL 46932 - 1st Lt. Leroy W. Ista, Killed in Action while returning from his December 22, 1943 mission.
Killed in Action (KIA) crashed into North Sea in P-47 #42-22458.
Following a mission escorting bombers over Osnabruck on 22nd December 1943 he was reported MIA about 10 miles off the Norfolk coast; his body was never recovered.
