Roberts, James K. Age 90, from Edina, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2nd, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. James served in the US Army, 8th Air force, 349th bomb squadron, 100th bomb group (bloody 100th) as a radio operator, waist gunner on board B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft. James flew 22 bombing missions over Germany and was shot down over German occupied France. He was discharged in 1945 and ran a successful insurance business post war. He enjoyed his lake home at Lake Sylvia, MN, loved to fish and enjoyed pheasant hunting in Mitchell, SD, and also traveled the world during retirement. He was the best of America's Greatest Generation.
