Private James F. Grime was born January 2, 1923, and was the son of Charles and Lillian Grime. His hometown was West Rutland, Massachusetts.

On September 27, 1944, he was a gunner aboard ‘Special Delivery II’, B-24 tail #42-94888, when it collided with another B-24 from its unit, the 489th Bomb Group, 844th Bomb Squadron, over Walberswick, Suffolk. There were no survivors from either plane.

He is buried in South Cemetery in Oakham, Massachusetts.
