Description

This mission was to be a major attack on the industrial areas of Duren, Germany but was abandoned when the leading formations of 3rd Bomb Division were unable to form-up over the North Sea. 1 aircraft Failed to Return (FTR) 10KIA. The aircraft was not attacked but somehow caught fire. The crew baled out over the sea, but all of them perished.
