Description

Two German airfields in France are the targets for this mission. The first element is a formation of 72 B-26s from 322BG (36) and 323BG (36) depatched to bomb the German airfield at Lille/Nord, France. The mission is recalled due to clooud cover over the target. All aircraft return wihout bombing. There are no losses or claims.



The second element is a fromation of 72 B-26s from: 387BG (36) and 386BG (36) despatched to bomb the German airfield at Merville, France. 68 aircraft are effective on the target. There are no losses or claims. 27 aircraft are damaged and 2 airmen are Wounded in Action (WIA).
