Lt. Jarvis M Ter Haar, Holland, MI, 361st Fighter Squadron, 356th Fighter Group. Lt Ter Haar joined the squadron on 25th January 1945. Exactly one month to the day later, on 25th February, his P-51 developed an oil leak and lost coolant returning from a Ramrod to Friedrichshafen. At the time he was flying P-51D 44-15082 QI-Z. He jettisoned his canopy , which had become covered with the leaking oil, and managed to crash-land at the airfield at Tantonville/Y-1, France. Unfortunately, Lt. Ter Haar was injured in the landing and was taken to the 21st General Hospital at Mirecourt, France.
