11 March 1945: More "battle damage" on the ramp at Raydon. P-51B 42-106751 had already served in combat with the 487th Ftr Sq, 352nd FG. Declared war-weary, she became a squadron "hack" for the 350th Ftr Sq, 353rd FG (coded LH-L underscored). While she was being towed across the ramp, Capt William F Tanner (in Lt Herb Kolb's P-51D "Baby Duck," serial 44-15137, coded LH-R) taxied his own Mustang blindly into his victim. Dignity was the only casualty for the day, and both aircraft were apparently repaired. NARA Ref 342-FH-3A05675-69601AC
