IMAGEP-38J 42-67823 KI-N. Crashed on 4th May 1944 during test flight. Roy Scrutchfield took his Crew chief up in a cleared out space behind the cockpit on a test flight. He demonstrated the technique of switching off the engines and restarting them in flight. However, the engines refused to restart. Luckily, neither man was injured in the resulting forced landing, but the A/C was a write-off.
