UPL 16994
IMAGE'LM-A' P-47D of the 56thFG - 62ndFS. This very colorful plane - 42-28688 - was lost 18th December 1944 with pilot Lt. Wilburn A. Haggard becoming POW. Interesting to note that as this plane is being refueled, the guns are missing from the wings most likely being cleaned and serviced in preparation for the next sortie.
