UPL 14889
IMAGE41-23699 'Lemon Drop' was one of nine aircraft flown to England by the 68th BS. She was a veteran of Operation Tidalwave, the 1st August 1943 low-level mission to bomb the oil refineries at Ploesti, Romania. After returning to England, she was declared “War Weary” and converted for use as the Group’s formation assembly ship until scrapped in June 1945.
