Military"Iowans of the Mighty Eighth", Chapter 22 "Biographies", by Charles D Taylor.
He flew 27 combat missions on 'Pilgrim's Progress' in all their missions they only suffered one casualty, a tail gunner wounded by flak. He particularly remembered the mission to Berlin of 3rd February 1945, when they were part of a 1000 bomber raid and on the way home tuned in to the BBC to hear a commentary on the raid.
