Warren L. King was a navigator in the 398th, 8th Air Force. According to notes, his ship was hit by flak on a mission to Kassel, Germany on January 1, 1945. Reports state this the pilot put his ship in a dive to extinguish a fire in one of the engines. Lt King bailed out over the North Sea and was never found. My father, Lt Robert Rosenberg, witnessed the crash.
