Robert T Johnson
MilitaryShot down 10 June 1944 in B-24 #4440107.
Bailed out and picked up by French Underground, he attempted to reach Spain with the help of the Maquee but was captured in Paris when sold out by collaborators. He was one of a number of captured airmen held in Buchenwald until transferred to a Stalag Luft 3, Sagan, as a military prisoner. Ahead of the Russian advance he was moved to Stalag 13 Nuremburg, ending in Stalag 7 Moosburg where he was liberated by advancing American forces. He and several companions made it to Paris from Bavaria by VE-day using a commandeered German vehicle where as he reported that "he completed his 21st mission".
