Richard Bowler Jr
MilitaryPrisoner of War (POW) crashed near Brux on 17 April 1945 in B-17 'Earthquake McGoon' #4337597. He finally made it to a Prisoner of War (POW) camp after marching for days trying to find one. Finally at Stalag 17-18C they were put with over 13,000 Russian prisoners and only a handful of Americans. They were released on May 15th. He had served as tail gunner on the Rosie O'Grady crew for 11 missions, completed navigator training in between and was assigned as Navigator to the crew of 'Earthquake McGoon' while still a Sergeant. He was made a 2nd Lt. on March 8, 1946.
